Historic home on High Street in Newburyport’s Historic District transformed into a Federal Style home that fits the context but is modernized functionally to fit the client’s lifestyle. Site design was maximized to accommodate a new addition to the rear of the house while preserving the integrity of the front on a long thin site. New work included a renovated kitchen, mud room, powder room, butler’s pantry, and second floor bedrooms and baths. A new addition provided the family with a great room, screened porch, and deck leading to an outdoor pool. Additionally, a new layout for the drive connected a new garage to the house and street.
